CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two women for questioning related to the fatal shooting of a man early Tuesday morning off Cumberland Road.
Henry Lee Downing Jr., 49, was found dead on the 2200 block of Ladyslipper Drive. Officers arrived at the scene around 12:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a person shot.
Sara Ruth Duncan and Elizabeth Louise Bartlett, both 40 and from Fayetteville, are the subjects of interest, according to a recent news release.
The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information about the whereabouts of either woman or details about Downing’s death to contact Homicide Detective R. Brinkley at 910-677-5463.
