U.S. Attorney’s Office Announces New Public Procedures To Report Environmental Concerns

BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that members of the public who have concerns regarding environmental issues within our community can now report those concerns to the U.S. Attorney’s Office as well as other federal and state agencies.

In making the announcement, U.S. Attorney Ross stated: “Strong and fair enforcement of environmental and public health laws ensures a healthy community for all families to live, learn, play, and work. Your reporting of public health and safety concerns supports environmental protection and environmental justice.”

These environmental concerns can include:

o Air quality

o Water pollution

o Dumping, burying, or burning of chemicals or toxic waste

o Climate Change

o Health

o Workplace conditions

o Wildlife, including pesticide application

o Wetland destruction

o Medications, cosmetics, and biological products

o Oil and chemical spills

o Discriminatory environmental and health impacts caused by recipients of federal funds
