U.S. Marshals Charge Man in ‘Young Dolph’ Murder Fugitive Investigation

Memphis,
TN
– The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force
(TRVFTF) have charged Shundale Barnett, 27, with state charges of
Accessory After the Fact to First Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt to
Commit First Degree Murder, and Theft of Property $10,000 to $60,000.

These charges stem from a coordinated arrest
between the TRVFTF and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive
Task Force (GLRFTF). On January 12, the GLRFTF arrested Johnson at a
truck stop on Highway 42 in Brazil, Indiana outside of Terra Haute.
Barnett was a passenger in the car with Johnson at the time of the
arrest.

The fugitive investigation into Johnson, who was
a person of interest in the homicide of Adolph Thornton, Jr., showed
that Barnett was aiding Johnson after the Nov. 17, 2021, Memphis murder
of Thornton known by his entertainment name “Young Dolph”.

Barnett remains in custody in the Clay County
Indiana Jail and awaits extradition to Shelby County, TN.
