Under Indictment, Menendez Lashes Out at MAGA and Ukraine Funding Cut

U.S. Senator Menendez arrives at Federal Court in New York

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) issued a statement lauding the passage of the continuing resolution to fund the government, while also expressing disappointment over the lack of funding for Ukraine.

Menendez credited Congressional Democrats for averting a government shutdown that would have adversely affected individuals, small businesses, and military families across the U.S. The bill extends key authorizations for the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Flood Insurance Program and provides relief for those affected by recent natural disasters.

The Senator expressed disappointment that the bill did not include funding for Ukraine but underscored the importance of the resolution in keeping essential services running and avoiding further harm to the economy. Menendez pledged that Democrats would continue to resist efforts to defund critical programs or target immigrant communities in future spending bills.
