UNION BEACH, NJ – Union Beach residents are mourning the loss of Police Detective Corporal Timothy Kelly, Jr. Kelly, 29, was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash overnight on Saturday. He was described by Chief of Police Michael J. Woodrow as a rising star in the Union Beach Police Department. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and became a police officer, following in his father’s footsteps, Chief Woodrow said.
