Union County player blasts off with $200K Powerball win

EAST BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, PA — A Powerball ticket purchased in Union County is now worth $200,000 thanks to the Power Play multiplier, the Pennsylvania Lottery confirmed Tuesday.

The ticket was sold at 7-Eleven, located at 2114 Old Turnpike Road, and matched four of five white balls (30-33-40-43-52) plus the red Powerball (25) in the June 9 drawing. Because the player added the $1 Power Play option, the prize increased from $50,000 to $200,000 when the multiplier four was drawn.

The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Thousands of additional players win in Monday’s draw

More than 16,000 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes in the same drawing, including over 3,200 with Power Play and more than 2,200 with Double Play.

Players have one year from the drawing date to claim any winnings. All winners must sign their ticket and follow claim procedures through the Pennsylvania Lottery.
