Utica Man Arrested in Drug Bust

UTICA, NY — Tyrone Pitts, 54, of Utica, was arrested on July 19 in a buy/bust operation conducted by the Utica Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit. The operation took place in the parking lot of Mohawk Street Plaza.

During the investigation, authorities seized a corner knotted bag containing 3.7 grams of cocaine and $512.00 in assorted U.S. currency. Following the seizure, Pitts faced multiple criminal charges.

The charges against Pitts include Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with intent to sell, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
