Utica police investigate early morning gunfire on Green and City streets

UTICA, N.Y. — Utica police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Monday morning after receiving two “Shots Spotter” alerts indicating gunfire in the city.

At approximately 2:28 a.m. on June 16, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1100 blocks of Green Street and City Street. Upon arrival, police located several spent bullet casings on Green Street.

During the investigation, officers also recovered a bullet projectile lodged in a second-floor window of a residence on the 100 block of City Street. Authorities have not reported any injuries related to the incident.

The Utica Police Department continues to investigate the shooting. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified at this time.
