Utica Police Seize Ghost Gun During Patrol

UTICA, NY – Utica Police officers from the GIVE Unit and Crime Prevention Unit were on a detail in the 1000 block of Knox Street, following recent gun violence incidents, when they stopped an individual on Monday.

During the interaction, officers developed grounds to frisk the man.

The pat-down revealed what officers suspected to be a handgun in the man’s waistband. Upon retrieval, it was confirmed to be a loaded 9mm ghost gun hybrid.

Marcus Reed, a 26-year-old male, was detained and taken to the Utica Police Department for further processing. The incident underscores ongoing efforts to address gun violence in the area.
