Vehicle Sought in Hit-and-Run Crash with E-Scooter

New York, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in investigating a hit-and-run collision that resulted in injuries. The incident took place in the 75th Precinct.

On Tuesday, July 18, at about 7:50 p.m., a 48-year-old male riding an electric scooter was struck by an unidentified driver operating a gray BMW SUV. The collision occurred as the scooter was traveling eastbound on Blake Avenue, nearing Hendrix Street, while the SUV was turning from eastbound Blake Avenue to southbound Hendrix Street. The driver of the SUV fled the scene, heading south on Hendrix Street.

The victim sustained shoulder injuries and was transported by EMS to Brookdale Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Photographs of the vehicle involved have been released.
