Victim Fights Off Armed Suspects in Harrowing Northwest D.C. Encounter

Washington, DC – A shooting in Northwest DC has prompted a call for public assistance in identifying the suspects involved.

On October 11, at approximately 12:10 p.m., the suspects approached a victim in the Unit block of Banner Lane, Northwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. During a struggle, the suspect shot the victim, grazing him, but the suspects fled without taking anything. The victim received treatment on the scene for a non-life-threatening injury.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects, which may aid in the investigation.

Anyone who can identify the suspects or has information about the incident is urged to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The D.C. Metro Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for violent crimes in the District of Columbia.
