Victim found stabbed to death in the Bronx identified as homeless man

NEW YORK CITY – A victim was found stabbed on Friday, at approximately 12:16 AM at the intersection of West 236 Street and Broadway, within the 50 Precinct’s jurisdiction.

NYPD officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers found a 52-year-old male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso.

The wounded individual, identified as Richard Roberts, was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital for immediate medical attention. However, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the severity, he succumbed to his wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

He was identified as a homeless man.

A 58-year-old male individual into custody at the scene. The person of interest, whose name has not been released to the public, is being held by authorities as the primary suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing.
