Virginia Beach Police launches homicide investigation into Thursday shooting death

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Virginia Beach Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning, in the 5200 block of Princess Anne Road. At approximately 1:30 am, officers responded to a call for a shooting and found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Amonte Walkup, 21, of Virginia Beach, was transported to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.

At this time, no suspects have been identified. No arrests have been made.
