Collinsville scratcher stuns Danville man with $500,000 jackpot
COLLINSVILLE, VA – A Danville man stared at his Wild Cash ticket and questioned whether the numbers in front of him were real before realizing he had just won the game’s $500,000 top prize.
Isaiah Olivis purchased the winning ticket at Fas Mart, 2758 Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.
After scratching the ticket, he said his first reaction was disbelief. The prize was confirmed as the game’s top award of $500,000.
The win marks the third and final top prize claimed in Wild Cash (game #2358). Under Virginia Lottery policy, scratcher games close once the last top prize is claimed.
The odds of winning the $500,000 top prize were 1 in 612,000. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game were 1 in 4.01.
Olivis said he plans to use the money to buy his mother a house, assist family members, invest and possibly take a cruise.
All Virginia Lottery profits support K-12 education across the Commonwealth. Olivis lives in Danville City, which received more than $10.1 million in lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year. In Fiscal Year 2025, the lottery raised more than $901 million statewide for public schools.
