Virginia State Police Seeks Public Assistance in Locating Four Suspects After Pursuit in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, VA—Virginia State Police are requesting public assistance in identifying and locating four male suspects involved in a vehicle pursuit on Sunday morning. The suspects, two of whom were armed, abandoned a stolen car and fled after crashing in Portsmouth.

The incident began at 9:49 a.m. when officers attempted to stop a 2000 BMW 528i on Interstate 264 near the Greenwood Drive East exit for reckless driving. The vehicle failed to yield, leading to a police chase.

The pursuit concluded when the BMW collided with a light pole on Taft Drive in Portsmouth, causing the driver and three passengers to escape on foot. Authorities quickly established a search perimeter to apprehend the suspects.

State police are actively working to confirm the identities of the individuals and their whereabouts. The vehicle involved was earlier reported stolen from Virginia Beach.
