Waltham Man Stabbed to Death in His Home on Halloween

WALTHAM, MA – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Chief of Police Keith MacPherson have confirmed the active investigation into a fatal stabbing that occurred on Halloween in Waltham.

Last night shortly after 9:00 p.m., Waltham Police received a 911 call from a 61-year-old man reporting that he had been stabbed in his Alder Street residence. The victim, identified as Kevin Fitzgerald, reported to police that he had been attacked by a man that he was unable to identify.

Upon arrival police located the victim alone in his residence. The victim was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Based on preliminary information investigators believe that the individual responsible for the attack may have been seen in the area shortly before the assault. At this time it is not known if this attack was random.

No arrests have been made and police are actively seeking information.
