Wanted man found hiding in RV luggage compartment during Stafford County warrant search

STAFFORD, Va. — A 39-year-old Spotsylvania man with an active warrant was discovered hiding inside an RV’s luggage compartment Monday evening after deputies launched a search at a business along King’s Highway.

William Acors, wanted in Stafford County for a capias offense, was located at Corbin’s RV at 348 King’s Highway around 5:18 p.m., according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies established a perimeter around the property due to Acors’ known history of fleeing from law enforcement.

During the search, Deputy S.C. Steinway checked several RV luggage compartments and found Acors lying face down inside the second compartment inspected. He was immediately taken into custody.

Authorities say suspected controlled substances were also found during a search of Acors. He was booked at Rappahannock Regional Jail and is being held without bond. Additional narcotics charges are pending.
