TOMS RIVER, NJ – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in New Jersey, and at one Jersey Shore area elementary school, one of Rudolph’s friends decided to check out a local elementary school.
Toms River Police reported that a deer broke into Cedar Grove Elementary School through a glass window, prompting a police response.
The animal entered the school, but thankfully, it was not during school hours.
Police were dispatched to the scene following a report from a local resident who witnessed the incident.
Upon arrival, officers located the deer inside the school. The deer, attempting to evade capture, ran down a hallway and entered a classroom. While fleeing officers, the deer caused quite a bit of a mess, but nothing serious other than a broken window.
Quick action by the officers, who opened the rear door of the school, allowed them to guide the deer safely out of the building.

The deer was last seen exiting the school premises and heading north. Perhaps the North Pole?
The break-in caused minor property damage, primarily to the window through which the deer entered. Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident and school was not in session at the time.
