Watch: Hit and Run Driver Charged in Hillsborough County

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended 26-year-old Angelo Juan Pedrosa following his flight from a crash scene. The incident occurred on Monday, November 13, 2023, around 11:45 p.m., when deputies attempted to stop a black pickup truck. The driver, later identified as Pedrosa, evaded law enforcement, heading southbound on 78th Street and subsequently crashing at Rideout Road.

Upon their arrival, deputies found the vehicle abandoned. However, the HCSO Aviation Unit soon spotted a man matching the description of the truck’s driver, moving quickly along 78th Street southbound. Deputies successfully apprehended Pedrosa, confirming his identity as the driver of the crashed vehicle.

Sheriff Chad Chronister commented on the incident, emphasizing the folly of fleeing a crash scene and assuring that perpetrators will be apprehended and face heightened charges.

Pedrosa now faces charges including Felony Fleeing to Elude, Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage, and Driving with a Cancelled, Suspended, or Revoked License.
