Wheelchair-bound woman robbed in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a theft in the 9th District. The incident occurred on September 13, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m. near 1046 Market Street.

According to investigators, the suspect approached a wheelchair-bound individual, took her bag, removed $800 in cash, and then returned the bag before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a black female with long braided hair, wearing glasses, a white shirt, black pants, and blue and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police. Video footage of the suspect is available, and tips can be provided anonymously by calling the Philadelphia Police Department.
