Wilkes-Barre man arrested following domestic assault incident

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A 31-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening after police responded to a domestic dispute on North Main Street, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the residence at approximately 6:56 p.m. on January 26. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim, a 31-year-old woman, who reported that a verbal altercation over rent payments had escalated into a physical assault.

The suspect, identified as Ricardo Martinez Huerta, was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to City Headquarters for processing.

The victim’s condition has not been disclosed, and authorities did not provide further details about the nature of the assault.
