Wilkes-Barre Man Arrested for Assault and Strangulation in Domestic Dispute

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A 34-year-old Wilkes-Barre man has been arrested and charged with assault and strangulation following a domestic dispute early Sunday morning. The incident occurred at a residence on North River Street.

At approximately 12:25 a.m. on September 1, 2024, officers from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they made contact with the 31-year-old female victim, who reported that an argument with the defendant, identified as Ramon Perez-Valoy, escalated into physical violence.

According to the victim, Perez-Valoy struck her in the face multiple times and placed his hands around her neck during the altercation. The officers took Perez-Valoy into custody at the scene.

Perez-Valoy was transported to City Headquarters for arraignment. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
