Wilkes-Barre police arrest fugitive wanted in Colorado

WILKES-BARRE, PA — A man wanted by the Denver Police Department in Colorado was taken into custody Sunday morning on Kidder Street following a report of a disorderly person, the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department announced.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:27 a.m. and identified the suspect as 40-year-old Jeffrey Watkins of Wilkes-Barre. During the investigation, officers discovered that Watkins had an active arrest warrant issued by Denver authorities.

Watkins was arrested on-site and transported to City Headquarters for processing and arraignment.

No additional details about the warrant or incident were released as the case remains under investigation. Wilkes-Barre police are coordinating with Denver authorities regarding Watkins’ extradition.
