Wilkes-Barre Police Detain Man for Public Intoxication

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — On July 25, at approximately 10:33 a.m., Wilkes-Barre City Police detained Joseph Jackiel, 68, for public intoxication near South Pennsylvania Avenue.

Officers on patrol found Jackiel lying unresponsive on a concrete barrier by the railroad tracks. Upon contact, they determined that he was significantly under the influence of alcohol and posed a danger to himself. Jackiel was taken into custody and held until he was sober.
