Wilkes-Barre police investigate shooting on East Northampton Street

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Wilkes-Barre police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday on East Northampton Street.

Officers from the city’s patrol division responded to a report of a shooting on September 9. Upon arrival, they located a male victim on the northside of the sidewalk. The victim was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment.

The crime scene was secured and processed by the State Police Forensic Services Unit and the Wilkes-Barre Detective Division. An investigation has been launched with assistance from the Luzerne County Detective Division.
