Wilmington Man Arrested for Assault at New Castle Motel

NEW CASTLE, DE — Anthony Garcia, a 43-year-old resident of Wilmington, was arrested on multiple felony charges following an assault at the Superlodge in New Castle.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, at approximately 12:27 p.m.

Delaware State Police responded to the scene where Garcia, after being asked to vacate his room, confronted a motel employee with a knife.

A brief altercation ensued, resulting in injuries to the employee’s hand. Garcia was apprehended at the motel without further incident.

He is currently held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $76,000 cash bond, facing charges including second-degree assault and aggravated menacing.
