Winfield Park Man Killed Crossing Route 9 in Linden

LINDEN, NJ — A tragic incident occurred early Wednesday morning when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Linden, New Jersey. Linden Police Department reported that the accident took place around 1:20 AM at the intersection of S. Wood Avenue and U.S. 1 & 9.

The victim, a 41-year-old man from Winfield Park, was crossing U.S. 1 & 9 when he was hit by a southbound 2021 Honda Civic. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported from the incident.

The Linden Police Traffic Bureau is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators are calling for anyone with information about the incident to contact Investigator Ryan Zaccaro at (908) 474-8505 to assist in the ongoing inquiry.
