Woman assaulted and robbed in Greenwich Village

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking to identify a man who assaulted and robbed a woman in Greenwich Village recently. According to police, at around 10:55 pm, an unknown male approached the woman from behind in the area of West 4th Street and Charles Street.

Detectives investigating the incident said the man grabbed the woman by her hair and forcibly pulled her down to the ground. He removed her purse and fled the scene.

Today, police released a video of the suspect at a nearby convenience store and are asking the public to assist in identifying the suspect.
