Woman carjacked at gunpoint in Edgewater

EDGEWATER, MD – Late on Saturday evening, at roughly 9:30 p.m., Southern District officers were called to the scene of an armed carjacking on the 300 block of Hamlet Circle.

The elderly female victim reported being accosted by four individuals – three males and one female.

One of the male suspects pointed a black handgun at her, and the female suspect stole her purse. The suspects, believed to have arrived in a white sedan, pushed the victim to the ground, took her vehicle, and fled.

The victim’s vehicle was later found unoccupied near Central Avenue and Beards Point Road. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 410-222-1960 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
