Woman Charged for Cane Attack Abord NYC Subway Train

NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Friday, at approximately 3:19 am, a 60-year-old female was assaulted at the West 116 Street and Lenox Avenue subway station.

The New York City Police Department has identified the suspect as Norton Blake, a 43-year-old male.

Blake is accused of striking the victim multiple times with a cane, causing swelling and pain. He then fled the scene on foot. The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

Surveillance footage of Blake has been released by the New York City Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

The investigation into the assault is ongoing, and police are actively seeking Blake for questioning.
