Woman Charged for Shooting and Killing Toddler in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Last Thursday, an incident led to the death of a 2-year-old girl from a gunshot wound.

The child’s grandmother, Twanda Harmon, a 54-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been charged by the District Attorney’s Homicides & Non-Fatal Shootings Unit with Involuntary Manslaughter and related offenses.

Philadelphia Police responded to a call from a residence on the 1600 block of North 29th Street, where they found the toddler with a gunshot wound to her head.

The child was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 12:33 pm.

The investigation, led by Philadelphia Police and the ATF, is still ongoing. Harmon also faces charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
