Woman charged with murder in Charlestown houseboat killing

BOSTON — A 24-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man found on a houseboat in Charlestown, Boston police said Thursday.

Officers responded to a marina in Charlestown at 10:43 p.m. Sunday, where they discovered 65-year-old Joseph Donohue of Charlestown deceased on the vessel. Authorities did not disclose details about his cause of death.

At the scene, police arrested Nora Nelson, 24, of Boston, on unrelated warrants. Following an investigation, homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant Thursday from Charlestown District Court, formally charging Nelson with Donohue’s murder.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate the circumstances of the case. Authorities have not provided information on a possible motive or the relationship between Nelson and Donohue.

A woman initially arrested on unrelated warrants is now charged with murder after a man was found dead on a Charlestown houseboat.
