Woman choked and mugged waiting for subway train in Queens

NEW YORK, NY — The New York Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery at the Elmhurst Avenue subway station on Monday. The incident occurred at approximately 11:05 a.m. when a 24-year-old female victim was targeted by an unknown individual while standing on the northbound platform.

According to the report, the victim was approached from behind and placed in a headlock by the assailant. The suspect forcefully took the victim’s cell phone before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident but declined medical attention.

The individual sought in connection with the robbery is described as a male with a dark complexion, aged between 25 and 30 years old. He stands approximately 5’11” tall and weighs around 170 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black t-shirt and light-colored jeans.
