Woman critically injured in Chesapeake shooting, police investigating

CHESAPEAKE, VA — A woman is in critical condition after an early morning shooting in a Chesapeake residence, according to police.

Officers responded to the 3000 block of Fireside Road at approximately 2:43 a.m. Monday following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult female who had been shot inside a home.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet released further details about her condition or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The Chesapeake Police Department confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and no information about a suspect has been provided at this time.
