Woman escapes abduction attempt along Lakewood’s Lake Carasaljo

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Police are investigating an attempted abduction and physical assault of a woman who was temporarily abducted on Lake Drive near Lake Carasaljo.

According to police, the 55-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her and dragged her into the wooded area near the lake. The man covered her mouth as he dragged her, but she was able to escape the attack.

After calling 911, police arrived and began an investigation. The suspect was identified as a male wearing dark clothing.

No arrests have been made. The Lakewood Police Department is being assisted by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation.
