Woman Injured in Purse Snatching in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 49-year-old woman was injured on Wednesday after two individuals forcibly removed her purse while she was walking near Lorimer Street and Broadway, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. when the victim was approached from behind by two unknown individuals on a two-wheeled vehicle. The suspects forcibly took her purse, causing her to fall to the ground and suffer pain and bruising to her arm, according to the New York City Police Department.

The two individuals fled northbound on Broadway following the robbery. EMS treated the victim at the scene.

Police described the first individual as a male with a medium complexion and slim build, last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue hat, and sunglasses. The second individual was described as a male with a light complexion and heavy build, last seen wearing a black hat, black t-shirt, black shorts, sunglasses, white sneakers, and carrying a white and gray bookbag.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
