Woman injured in Southeast DC shooting on Benning Road

WASHINGTON, DC – A woman was hospitalized Tuesday night after being shot on Benning Road in Southeast, prompting an ongoing investigation by police.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on December 10 in the 4600 block of Benning Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital for treatment, and her condition has not been disclosed.

Police temporarily closed Benning Road between C and B Streets in both directions as officers investigated the scene. Authorities have not released information about a potential suspect.
