Woman pepper sprayed court officers in Pennsylvania courtroom

PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced on Friday that Santhiya Mahilkanthan, a 32-year-old woman, was arrested following a distressing incident at the Munhall Magisterial District Judge Patrick Campbell’s office.

This event transpired this afternoon, when Mahilkanthan discharged pepper spray at court employees.

At around 3:00 pm, Mahilkanthan engaged in a heated dispute with court staff members over a pending court matter. Despite being asked to leave, she returned and discharged pepper spray through a glass partition. Mahilkanthan left the premises when staff members alerted the police, but she was soon located and apprehended by Munhall Police.
