NEW YORK, NY—Authorities are asking for public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery on a northbound “A” train. The incident occurred on Friday, May 17, at approximately 5:30 PM as the train approached the Rockaway Boulevard station.
A 59-year-old female was seated on the train when an unidentified male lunged at her as the train doors opened, forcefully taking her cell phone. The assailant then fled the station. The victim sustained a minor injury to her left shoulder during the encounter and was subsequently transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
The suspect is described as having a dark complexion, last seen wearing a red and white jacket along with dark-colored jeans. The NYPD is urging anyone who might have information about the suspect or the incident to come forward to help in the ongoing investigation and to prevent further incidents.
