Woman sexually assaulted inside her home by unknown man in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY — Authorities are investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred late Saturday night on Sussex Street, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Just after 11:30 p.m., Jersey City police were notified of the incident. Responding officers found a female victim who reported being physically and sexually assaulted by an unknown male as she entered a residence.

The victim was transported by emergency responders to Jersey City Medical Center, where she received treatment for her injuries.

The investigation is being led by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, in coordination with the Jersey City Police Department.

No arrests have been made.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office stated, “The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a report of a sexual assault that occurred on Saturday, July 26.”

Authorities continue to seek information related to the incident.

The assault was reported just before midnight near the city’s waterfront.
