Woman Shot in Face in Stowe Remains in Critical Condition

STOWE TOWNSHIP, PA – Police in Stowe Township responded to a shooting where a 29-year-old woman was shot in the face. A suspect has been taken into custody and charged for the shooting.

According to police, on Saturday, at 9:26 p.m., Stowe Township Police and paramedics responded to the 1100 Block of Race Street for a female shot. When first responders arrived, they found a 29-year-old female shot in the face. The victim was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition. The suspect remained on scene and was taken into custody.

“The victim, a second adult female, who was injured by flying glass, and a 3-year-old child who was uninjured were inside a vehicle when the shooting occurred. Stowe Township Police requested the investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit,” police said.

The Allegheny County Police Department said detectives determined 23-year-old Kazaya Craighead was responsible for the shooting.
