Woman Slashed and Killed in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY — A tragic incident unfolded early Saturday morning at 1418 Oakley Street in the Bronx, where a 37-year-old woman was found fatally wounded. Police responded to the scene following a 911 call at approximately 6:08 AM within the 47th Precinct.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Ashley Smith, unresponsive with a slash wound to her neck. Emergency Medical Services promptly transported Smith to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was pronounced deceased.

Ashley Smith resided at 133 East Lincoln Avenue in Mt Vernon, NY. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with her death, and the NYPD continues its investigation into the circumstances surrounding this violent act.
