Woman sought in connection to NYC subway pepper spray assault

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is actively seeking public assistance in identifying a female individual involved in an assault incident that took place in the Bronx.

The assault reportedly occurred on Sunday, at around 11:40 pm.

During the altercation, the victim, a 30-year-old female, was reportedly pepper-sprayed in the face by the suspect during a dispute on a northbound 5 train. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene by Emergency Medical Services before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. She was released a few hours later.

The suspect, believed to be a woman in her mid to late 30s, was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, black jacket, blue jeans, and black boots. She fled the scene immediately after the incident.

The NYPD is urging anyone who might have witnessed the incident or who has any information about the suspect to come forward.
