Woman struck by a stray bullet in Brooklyn

New York, NY- The New York City Police Department reported a fight between two men on a Brooklyn Street Corner early Sunday morning escalated when one of the men pulled a gun and fired at the other multiple times.

The incident happened at around 5 a.m. At the intersection of Rockaway Parkway and Church Avenue.

Instead of striking the intended target, the gunman struck a 35 year-old woman who was passing by police said today.

She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the wrist. She is in stable condition and expected to survive.

A nearby restaurant had several bullet holes in the front window. A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department said that the woman was an innocent bystander and that no suspects are in custody at this time.
