Woman Unknowingly Drives Home After Being Shot in Hampton

HAMPTON, VA – A 19-year-old woman drove home unaware that she had been shot, according to information from Hampton Police.

The incident took place in the 1800 block of W. Mercury Boulevard around 7:45 p.m. last Wednesday. Initially, the victim mistook the gunshot for an exploding vape, only realizing she was injured upon reaching her home in Norfolk.

She then sought treatment at Portsmouth Naval Hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Hampton Police were informed of the shooting by Norfolk Naval Base Police at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing, and Hampton Police are asking to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect related to this shooting.
