ROP GRANDE, NJ – A woman who was reportedly hanging dolls from a tree near the sign of Democrat congressional candidate Tim Alexander, a candidate for office in Rio Grande has been identified.
Detectives were able to identify the 36-year-old woman, also a resident of Rio Grande using surveillance footage.
Police said the woman is suffering from behavioral health issues and has undergone treatment for related issues in the past.
At this time, police are not filing any bias or intimidation charges against the woman. Alexander also said he agreed with police to not file criminal charges against the woman.
Alexander is a black male and at first, it was thought the hanging dolls were a racially motivate threat against the candidate as they were tied with a noose. Alexander, a Democrat lost his congressional election bid to incumbent Republican Jeff Van Drew.
