Woman who poisoned her look-alike with tainted cheesecake going to prison for 21 years

QUEENS, NY – Viktoria Nasyrova, a 47-year-old woman from Brooklyn, was sentenced to 21 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder, attempted assault, assault, unlawful imprisonment, and petit larceny.

Nasyrova poisoned her lookalike, 35-year-old Olga Tsvyk, with a sedative-laced cheesecake in an attempt to steal her identity and other property. The two women looked remarkably similar, according to police.

The incident occurred on August 28, 2016, when Nasyrova visited Tsvyk’s Forest Hills home, bringing a cheesecake as a gift. After eating the dessert, Tsvyk felt sick and passed out, with her last memory being of Nasyrova walking around her room. The following day, Tsvyk was found unconscious with pills scattered around her body, as if she had attempted suicide.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Upon returning home, Tsvyk discovered her passport, employment authorization card, a gold ring, and other valuables were missing. Law enforcement agents with the Department of Homeland Security found traces of Phenazepam, a potent sedative, in the cheesecake residue. The Drug Enforcement Administration also identified the same drug in the pills found near Tsvyk.

She was sentenced this week.
