Woman’s decomposed body found in plastic bin in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – The body of an unidentified woman was found dumped in a bin in the Wakefield section of the Bronx on Friday.

NYPD officers responded to a 911 call reporting a person in need of assistance at the rear of 4438 Edson Avenue, located in the Bronx.

When the officers arrived, they found an unconscious and unresponsive female in a partially decomposed state inside a plastic bin. EMS arrived and declared the female deceased at the scene.

The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner. The investigation is currently underway.

The woman is believed to be in her twenties.

The identification of the deceased is awaiting notification of the family.
