Woodbridge Man Arrested for Strangulation and Domestic Assault

WOODBRIDGE, VA – Police arrested Jose Olegario Lopez, 34, from Alexandria, on charges related to domestic violence following an incident on July 10. At approximately 7:50 PM, officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the 13700 block of Gilbert Rd.

The investigation revealed that during a verbal altercation, Lopez physically assaulted a 35-year-old woman and their 4-year-old daughter. On July 8, Lopez reportedly strangled the woman and struck the child, leading to further investigation and his subsequent arrest.

Lopez is charged with one count of strangulation and two counts of domestic assault. The victim reported minor injuries from the incident.
