Yonkers Police Surprise WWII Veteran for 100th Birthday

YONKERS, N.Y. — The Yonkers Police Department helped one of their community’s heroes mark a century of life this week. Mr. James DeLucie, a World War II veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, celebrated his 100th birthday, and members of the Yonkers PD made sure the day didn’t go unnoticed.

Officers on patrol stopped by DeLucie’s home on Tuesday to personally wish him a happy birthday, honoring his service and his milestone achievement. “It was our honor to celebrate his birthday with him!” the department said in a statement.
